The reason this cake is called Pineapple Dream is because when you eat it, your taste buds go right into tropical island mode. You can make this cake in as little as 10 minutes to put together, 35 minutes to bake it and 10 minutes to frost it. Not to bad for a mind-trip to the tropics, now is it?

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 4-oz. can mandarin oranges
  • 1 l6-oz. can crushed pineapple
  • 1 large package instant vanilla pudding
  • 1 large container whipped topping
  1. Step 1

Put the cake mix together as directed on the box. Bake in oven set at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.

  2. Step 2

While the cake cools, prepare frosting mixture by mixing together the can of crushed pineapple (do not drain), package of vanilla instant pudding and entire container of whipped topping.

  3. Step 3

Once cake is cooled, frost it with the topping you made. Drain the can of mandarin oranges and decorate your cake with the oranges.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can change the vanilla pudding mix to a lemon instant pudding or other pudding you may enjoy. Chocolate instant pudding does not work well with this recipe.
  • There is a yellow butter recipe cake mix on the market that works very well with this recipe.
