This Honey glazed baked ham recipe is delicious and so easy to make.There is a very unusual ingredient that makes this baked ham one to remember.

Instructions

Step1
Ingredients:
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup pineapple juice
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup chopped onions
1/4 cup corn starch
1 tbsp. yellow mustard
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
Okay, ready for the unique ingredient?
1 cup dill pickle juice
1 (4 1/2 to 5 pound)Shank half ham,bone-in
Step2
Using a blender, combine honey, brown sugar mustard, pineapple juice, cloves,pepper, onions, cinnamon, cornstarch, and pickle juice; blend on about medium speed until smooth.
Step3
Pour the mixture into a large pot; bring the mixture to a slow boil.
Simmer for 5 minutes on low heat, stirring constantly.
Heat oven to 3oo degrees F. Remove extra fat and skin from the ham.
Place the ham on a baking rack in a roasting pan.
Score ham on all sides. Press whole clove into each scored square.
Step4
Bake ham uncovered for 2 hours. with a brush, baste top of ham with a coating of the honey-glaze mixture. Repeat this every 10 to 15 minutes up to 1 hour or until internal temperature is 175 F.
Place ham to a warm serving platter. Brush ham with one last coating.
Reheat any remaining glaze and serve as a sauce.

Tips & Warnings

  • Remove whole clove before serving
  • Boneless Turkey breast is also excellent this way
