Get over the guy or girl who broke your heart.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Some time.
  • Pen and Paper.
  1. Step 1

Make a list of all of the things you did not like about this person, record any instances where you were not treated well, hurt and just things that bugged you about the person/your relationship with them. When you begin to feel wistful look at this list to keep yourself from idealizing the person or relationship in your head.

  2. Step 2

Keep busy. Sitting at home and moping won't help you at all. Go to the gym, get out with a friend, take a class, play with your dog. Do anything that will get your mind thinking about something that is not your heartbreak. If you cant get out, play the kind of music that makes you happy.

  3. Step 3

Try to look nice. Not for when you see him/her or for the next person, but for you. Taking some time to focus on yourself will help to take the focus off of others. Indulge in sweets a little too, but don't over do it.

  4. Step 4

Remove any potential reminders. If you have stuff to give back, mail it,things you are going to keep put in a box for now. You don't need constant reminders of your pain in your house/car/at work. Put the box somewhere out of sight, and you can get back to it when you're not in pain.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not try to see him/her.
  • Do not watch a lot of romantic movies.
  • If you are depressed, see out a mental health professional.
  • Once you are happy and better than ever someone else will want you. Do not be afraid to get back out there. Do watch out for behaviors you dislike. NO need to repeat the same pattern.
