How to Make Valentine Cookie Bouquets

This is a perfect Valentine gift for anyone! Works great for decorations around the house and children can even help. Look at my other articles for a delicious sugar cookie recipe and the perfect decorating icing.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Tall glasses or vases
• Styrofoam
• Bamboo skewers
• Sugar
• 3-inch heart shaped cookie cutter
• Decorating icing
• Sugar cookie recipe

1. 

   Prepare sugar cookie recipe a refrigerate for at least an hour. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper or non-stick foil. Roll out dough between 2 sheets of parchment or wax paper to 3/8 inch thickness.

   Cut out 8 hearts with cookie cutter. Transfer 4 hearts to each prepared baking sheet.

   Your cookie should look like this but have skewers in them.

   Insert the point of a skewer about 2 1/2 inches into dough through pointed tip of each heart. You can so this by gently twirling it between your thumb and index finger. Bake cookies until golden brown at edges and then let cool completely.

4. 

   Make decorating icing. You can always buy this icing at the store if you want too. Tint your icing with red and pink, and leave some icing white in color. Decorate your cookies.

5. 

   Fill glasses or vases with foam blocks cut to fit. Pour in sugar between glass and foam to cover. Trim skewers to the desired length and insert into foam.

Tips & Warnings

• Be creative, you can use anything you want. Instead of a vase you can use a box and decorate that as well. You can also use colorful candy instead of sugar to fill the vase.
