When you want to greet new neighbors to the neighborhood, say hello and welcome with a great cookie bouquet just for them. This is easy to do even if you are not the best baker in the world.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A roll of sugar cookie dough or dense cookie dough, like gingerbread or snickerdoodle dough
  • A roll of chocolate chip cookie dough
  • White lollipop sticks (found at craft store)
  • 3 or 4 different colors of icing
  • Candies for decorating
  • Basket (found at any craft store)
  • Shredded tissue paper or whole tissue paper (any color)
  • Welcoming card
  • Ribbon
  1. Step 1

Roll the sugar cookie dough with a rolling pin about 1/4 of an inch thick. This step is crucial because the cookie needs to be of substantial size or the stick will break it. Using a cookie cutter, cut out any shapes you like.

  2. Step 2

Bake the cookies as directed on the package.

  3. Step 3

Once the cookies have cooled to the touch but are not hard, insert the stick through the bottom.

  4. Step 4

Lay all cookies on the cookie sheet and ice them any way you like. Feel free to add candies to decorate.

  5. Step 5

Next, bake the other type of cookies just as the package instructs. These do not have to be rolled since they will not have sticks added to them.

  6. Step 6

While they are baking, add styrofoam to the basket. Add the cookies with the stick to the basket by sticking them into the styrofoam so they stand straight up. Add tissue paper to the bottom to hide the styrofoam.

  7. Step 7

After the other cookies have cooled, scatter them on the bottom of the basket.

  8. Step 8

Sign the card and add it to the basket. After adding a nice ribbon to the handle of the basket, you are good to go.
