Things You'll Need:
- Computer with CD burner
- Blank CD-R
- MP3 music library
-
Step 1
Create a list of songs that you want to include on the CD. This can include sentimental songs that have special meaning or songs that you think the person will like.
-
Step 2
For a Valentine’s CD, look for songs about love. Do a search on www.itunes.com for song ideas. Some not too sappy suggestions include “Lovesong” by The Cure (or the updated version by 311), “I Love You” by Sarah McLachlan, “Wonderful Tonight” by Eric Clapton, “Wicked Game” by Chris Isaak, “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston, “Everything I Do (I Do It For You)“ by Bryan Adams and “You Are So Beautiful” by Joe Cocker.
-
Step 3
Purchase the songs that you have selected or rip the music from CDs that you have purchased onto your hard drive.
-
Step 4
Create a playlist for the songs. Put the songs in a good order. For instance, don’t put all the slow songs in a row. Instead, mix the order of the songs up a bit to give your CD a good flow.
-
Step 5
Use your computer’s CD burning software to drag and drop the songs and the burn them onto a blank CD. You can also burn a CD directly from www.itunes.com. After you create an iTunes playlist, select File, then Burn Playlist to Disc.
-
Step 6
Follow the instructions for burning the CD completely. Don’t attempt to halt the process once you have started. Make sure the CD finalizes.
-
Step 7
Use your CD burning software to create a cover or song list for your CD. You can also create a cover for free on www.itunes.com. For professional looking covers, you can purchase label making software and labels.
-
Step 8
Make sure to listen to the CD once (to make sure it burned properly) before giving it to your sweetie.
