      What are your short-term goals?

      This is one of those really interesting telephone interview questions.
      The answer does not have to do with money at all! What are some short-term things you want to accomplish while with the company? Answer: "My short-term goals are to learn as much as I can about the company and our prospects. I want to take this knowledge starting applying to [your job function here]. Then I want to build relationships with a lot of my coworkers so that I can see first-hand the correct way in which we do business. This will help me get to my future goals of [your job function here] quickly and easily because I will be able to avoid mistakes and know when to take advantage of opportunities."       Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

      Don't say that you want to own your own business or transfer or be in non-profit. Companies spend 1000s of dollars hiring people and they want to know that you'll stay. Say that you see yourself performing your best at [company x]. You have made tons of mentors. The company's partners and clients (if applicable) are all happy with you. In fact they are giving you referrals because you have built a solid long-term relationship, which helps the company get even more business.

      Why do you want to work in this industry?

      The most important preparation for this is to research. Read the news. What's happening in the industry, what are the ramifications? Most importantly what are the companies doing for the community? So the company that you're passionate their mission in the community and however they are adding value to people's lives.
