In order to become overall healthier, we hire nutritionists, in order to become more fit, we hire personal trainers. The same goes for reaching our personal goals and becoming our overall best - we hire Life Coaches. But how do you find a Life Coach, that is right for you? Follow the following steps:

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Patience
  • Internet Access
  • a few free minutes
  • committment

Step1
Google Life Coaches in your area. There is an overwhelming amount of coaches out there, so be prepared to do some research.
Step2
Check out their website, and see if there expertise aligns with what you are looking for - for example Life Coaches can be specialized in relationships, spirituality, motivation or self-talk.
Step3
Contact the coach for an appointment at your convenience. Most coaches offer a free coaching session - a trial-run, so to speak. Insist on getting that free consultation first.
Step4
Be prepared to ask specific questions to the coach, and let her/him know what you want to work on. A good coach will be asking you many questions.
Step5
Get clear of how much the coach charges. The fees are, as with any professional, not cheap, but you are paying for a valuable service.
Step6
If you feel absolutely comfortable with the coach, hire her/him. If you have any doubt, go to the next one. This is a close relationship, that you are entering by hiring a coach. It is important that you feel confident to be open, with the person you are being coached by.

Tips & Warnings

  • Before the free coaching session, become prepared by having a pad of paper with you.
  • Before the session, have a list of questions ready for the coach.
  • Only hire a coach, you feel comfortable with!
  • Life Coaches are no therapists. Life Coaches work on your future, therapists work on you getting over your past.
  • Be ready to work! Life Coaching is an active adventure. While the techniques and approaches of Life Coaches differ, active involvement in the process of making over your life, is mandatory!
  • Remember success is determined by your commitment to what you want to achieve.
