Babies are expensive! If you choose not to breastfeed, they really become expensive. Learn how to save money on baby formula right here.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • internet access
  • price club membership (optional)
  1. Step 1

Gain an understanding of baby formula. The FDA says all formulas must contain a certain standard of nutrition, so basically, one is not better than the others! They all have the same nutritional values.

  2. Step 2

Utilize Generics! Learn to recognize generic brands made by the same companies but going by different names. Example: PBM is a manufacturer of baby formula for many outlets. Walmart's Parent's Choice, Sam's Club's Members Mark, Walgreens own label, and their own brand called Bright Beginnings (www.brightbeginnings.com) sold at many grocery stores and drug stores. What they do not tell you is that PBM formula is made by Wyeth Pharmaceuticals! If you take their drugs, certainly you can trust their baby formula. This is a very reputable company, and again, the FDA says certain things must be present, so you are safe! You can compare major brands on the Bright Beginnings website.

  3. Step 3
    Register at www.enfamil.com
    Register at www.enfamil.com

Register on the websites of the major players... Enfamil, Simalac, Good Start, etc. Enfamil will send you 2 full sized cans and $24 in coupons. Your hospital and pediatrician can also give you the Enfamil diaper bag full of coupons and samples. Just ask! Simalac will send you 2 cans, as well.

  4. Step 4

Request Samples from Everybody! Go to the Sam's Club website (www.samsclub.com) and request a sample of their formula. You can also do this on Walmart's website.

  5. Step 5

Use grocery store coupons that print with the receipts. Don't just buy formula at baby superstores, go to the grocery store with your new coupons. Once the computer tags you as someone buying baby products, you will begin to get formula (and other) coupons with your receipts. $4.50 off of Enfamil is a popular one. That is a good deal!

  6. Step 6

If you decide to go with a generic (your baby will never know the difference! Trust me... I know!) call 1-800-485-9918 to get registered with PBM Products. You can call every 30 days to request coupons for the formula. People sell this phone number on ebay! Can you believe it? You just got it for free.
