We are always trying to look and feel better. Getting thinner and healthier isn't easy. We try the diets, liquid shakes, lean cuisines, jenny craigs, the slim fast and root veggie and fast plans. Here are a few suggestions.
Why don't you just take a walk! We all know that going on a shopping spree or eating at a great restaurant can make us happy, but how long does it last? To ensure a better sense of well being, why not take a walk? Feel the night air, surround yourself with nature. Walking is good for you! They say if you walk 90 minutes a day, it helps you not to regain weight. A good leisurely walk reduces stress and depression, improves circulation and it just makes you feel good.
Step2
Tune out! If you find yourself watching hours of tv, you may want to tune out and go out. After work, instead of changing and plopping down on the sofa, why not go for a walk, or hit the gym, take a yoga class or a dance class? A 30 minute walk every day or night may reduce chances of high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke. Use up your lunch time to walk, use the stairs instead of the escalator. Get off the train a few extra stops from your station. You will burn calories and that assists in losing weight and toning up as well.
Step3
Cut down on the carbs and white sugar. Replacing rice and potatoes with a salad can really make a difference. Go for the whole wheat bread or pasta instead of white. Fill up on more veggies. I find if I make a salad more interesting, I am more inclined to eat them. Add radishes, fennel, scallions, tomatoes. Don't only go for ice berg, toss it up with spinach and romaine or watercress. Stick to lean meats and add fish to your diet, salmon and tuna and filet are wise choices. Instead of white bread go for whole grain or wheat.
Step4
Drink water. Filling up on water suppresses your appetite. Water has a way of cleansing the toxins from your body, relieving headaches, allowing for more flexible muscles and giving you energy. Be sure to drink water throughout the day. It's important for the skin and fact is, drinking water can make your skin more youthful. Next time you reach for that Pepsi, grab the Poland spring instead. You get the idea.
Step5
Don't skip meals. Complex carbs take longer to digest than the simple carbs.
Step6
Seek support. having people join you on the journey to weight loss gives you incentive and confidence. Join a site or a chat room that is significantly for losing weight. Dieters who visit once a wee or month are more likely to lose weight than those who do it alone and keep off more weight.
Step7
Ride a bike.
