How to Make Your Bridal Party Wedding Bouquets
Building your own bridal party wedding bouquet gives you full control over the flowers used and the size of the arrangement. Flowers can be purchased wholesale; floral supplies can be found at local craft stores. The bouquet can be prepared ahead of time and stored in a refrigerator before the ceremony. 1
Prepare the flowers by removing any leaves and damaged petals with the stem stripper or your hands. Cut the bottom of each stem with a floral cutter along a diagonal angle. Place the conditioned flowers in a bucket filled with cool water as you work on each flower.
-
2
Arrange the flowers one by one in your hand. Start with four flowers and position them so they are at an even height, forming a square-like shape. Arrange the remaining flowers around the four center stems at a lower height one at a time. As you add more flowers, place them next to each other. Form a dome shape, with the highest point being the center.

Use garden string to tie a loop around the bouquet to keep your flowers in place. The loop should be about 3 to 4 inches below the heads of your flowers. Bind the stems together with floral tape, leaving about 2 inches of each stem unwrapped.

Trim the bottoms of the stems with the floral cutters. Begin wrapping the ribbon around the stem bundle; start at the top and work your way to the bottom. Trim any excess ribbon. Secure the ribbon in place with pearl-head pins by pressing the pins through the ribbon and stem. Place the pins about an inch or two apart.

If desired, use ribbon to tie a bow underneath the heads of the flowers. Add decorative pins, clips or wired crystal beads to the bouquet for added charm. Use a paper towel to wipe off any water on the bottom of the stems and wrap the completed bouquet in tissue. Leave all bouquets in the refrigerator until the wedding.
