Noah's Ark Birthday Party Ideas

Little kids love learning about Noah's Ark and are intrigued with the animals that went aboard. Throw your child a Noah's ark birthday party, and all the guests will have a great time.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bible times costumes for adult man and woman
  • Computer/printer
  • Noah's ark wall hangings
  • Construction paper
  • White construction paper or cotton balls
  • Glue sticks
  • White poster board paper
  • Cake mix
  • White icing
  • Blue food coloring
  • Colored candy pieces
  • Large marshmallows
  • Noah's ark coloring page
  • Snack items
  • Goody bag items
  1. Step 1

Find a Noah's Ark coloring page online for the invitations. Print it onto brown card stock paper. Write in the party details, such as who it is for, date, time, place and any special instructions you might have for party guests. Your child can hand these out in church and at preschool.

  2. Step 2

Consider having mom and dad could dress as Noah and his wife. Perhaps your church has costumes that they would be willing to lend you for the party.

  3. Step 3

Decorate with pictures of the ark hung on walls. Print out Noah's ark and animal pictures you find online. Printing the pictures on card stock will make them look better.

  4. Step 4

Make banners from your computer's word processing program to hang around the room. They can say things like, "Welcome to Noah's Ark" or "Join Us for a Cruise on Noah's Ark."

  5. Step 5

Decorate with inflatable jungle animals. You can find inexpensiv ones at Oriental Trading Company online.

  6. Step 6

Plan to have activities and a craft set up in rotating stations. This will help the children to keep moving and not become bored. One activity idea is to play "Pin the Tail on the Monkey." Print out a picture of a monkey and cut off his tail. Make enough copies of his tail for the number of children invited to the party. Hang the monkey on a wall and have children take turns trying to pin on his tail (using tape works just fine) while blindfolded. Hand out a prize to the winner.

  7. Step 7

Play the timeless favorite, "Follow the Leader." Have 1 child lead the other children around in a circle or like a train track. While the leader is performing some type of animal motion, the other children must follow what he is doing. Once the allotted amount of time is up (say 30 seconds or a minute), another child gets to become the leader.

  8. Step 8

Make a rainbow craft. Cut strips of rainbow semicircles out of construction paper using the colors of the rainbow (ROYGBIV). Now cut out cloud shapes with white construction paper (or you can use cotton balls). Have the children glue their rainbows down on white poster board paper by strips and add clouds on either side of the rainbow. For an added touch, write a Bible verse or a saying about your child's birthday party on the poster board before children glue their rainbows on it.

  9. Step 9

Serve a rainbow birthday cake. Bake a circle cake and ice it with blue icing (white icing mixed with blue food coloring). Add candy pieces that are the colors of the rainbow and lay them out on the icing to make the shape of a rainbow. Add clouds with marshmallows.

  10. Step 10

Serve animal snacks. Snacks for the party can be lots of fruits, especially bananas that monkeys are known to love. Also have animal crackers, and serve fruit punch as a drink. For a heavier snack, offer sandwiches cut with animal shaped cookie cutters, tiger balls (round cheese doodles), or pigs in a blanket (hot dogs).

  11. Step 11

Don't forget about the goody bags! You can fill plain brown paper bags (sandwich size) with all kinds of goodies, including small stuffed animals, plastic animals, animal crackers, rainbow stickers, Bible coloring books and Skittles candy.
