How to Make a Welcome Basket for New Neighbors

Moving to a new town or neighborhood can be difficult because you usually don't know anyone or where anything is. Make your new neighbors feel welcome and let them know about their new community--as soon as you see the moving trucks pulling up you can begin to put this basket together.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

1. Find a cute basket or a large gift bag.
2. Gather some items from around your community. Some suggestions are: Your church bulletin, take-out menus from local favorite restaurants, local map with grocery stores, library, and shops marked. You can also include a small home decor item like a candle, small house plant or welcome mat.
3. Continue the age old tradition of breaking bread in your new home by including some homemade or store bought muffins in the basket.
4. Include a simple hand written note to the new family welcoming them to the area and letting them know that if they need anything you are happy to help.
5. Deliver the basket and spend a few moments introducing yourself and your family. You may have possibly made a new friend and will definitely make your new neighbors feel welcome.
