Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Clairify The best way to start any restorative hair process is to remove buildup. The hair is normally very absorbent and retains everything from chlorine and rust in the tap water we use, to the chemicals in the hair products that we use on a daily basis. There are many natural ways to remove these minerals and chemicals from the hair. One common product many of us have in our pantry can easily remove these residues. Baking Soda! that's right, baking soda. You can either directly apply two to three table spoons directly to wet hair or mix into your choice of shampoo. Simply work into the hair and allow to set for 10 minutes, rinse and repeat. This will remove most if not all build up.
Step2
Repair The next step in the process to silky hair is to recondition the hair. This can be achieved in a few ways and depending on the special needs of your hair. If your hair is damaged, most times the hair needs an infusion of protein. There are a few ways to get the protein bonds more balanced in your hair. A couple of home remedies are achieved with either beer or raw eggs. Both work great and either will do a good job. Apply your choice and work through hair evenly. Allow to set for 20 to 30 minutes, then rinse. "ALWAYS!" follow a protein treatment with a moisturizing treatment. Protein is great for damaged hair but it can also be drying.
Step3
Moisture and Shine The final steps in the regimen is moisturizing and sealing. One of the best home product to use for conditioning is Olive oil. When used sparingly this is a wonderful ingredient used by many people around the world to improve hair and skin. Apply 1 tblsp. to hair work from root to ends, concentrating on ends. Cover with plastic cap and allow to remain on hair for at least 30 minutes. Remove cap and rinse thoroughly. Best to do on a day when you have a day off following treatment as hair can be slightly oily after. Treatment can be followed with a vinegar rinse. Apply vinegar to hair and follow with a cool water rinse. Hair is best when it's allowed to air dry.
