  1. How to Marble Painting with Kids

    • 1

Cover your work area with newspaper. Cut construction paper the size
that will fit inside a shoe box. You can also use poster board cut to
fit for a sturdier medium. Large shoe boxes like from boots give the
marbles more room to roam, but any size will do.

    • 2

Squirt 3 dollops--about a teaspoon to tablespoon--of paint onto the
paper already laid in the shoe box. Choose complementary colors or
contrasting for a more shocking look. Consider neon colors on black
      paper for a nice effect.

    • 3

Toss 5 to 6 marbles into the shoe box and let the kids roll them
around by tilting the shoe box in many directions. The neat thing about
marble art is that no two pictures will ever look the same.

    • 4

When done simply remove the marbles and rinse off for the next child. Remove the paper or poster board from the shoe box and lay flat to dry.

Tips & Warnings

  • Put each child's name on their artwork if you are doing this in a daycare setting with many children.
