Fabric softeners work well to remove static from clothing in the dryer as well as add a fresh clean scent to your laundry, but did you know they work for many other things too? Here are a few ideas to get you started thinking about the many uses of fabric softener sheets--before and after they are used in the dryer.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Add a fabric softener sheet into the soles of athletic shoes when not in use This same idea works great in your clothing drawers and linen cupboard. Sheets and pillows never smelled so good. And what about your suitcases that sit empty for months at a time? Set unused fabric softeners in them while being stored.
Step2
Put used fabric softener sheets to good use as household dusters. Used fabric softeners make great dusters for computers and televisions and all of your other electronic gadgets. Only use dry and used sheets because the ingredients in new ones could be harmful to appliances and leave a smudgy residue.
Step3
Use fabric softener sheets to attract lint and hair off coats and sweaters. They are great for those black outfits that show up every little loose hair. They also take the static out of clothes so if you have a clingy skirt, try swiping a fabric softener sheet over your skirt or nylon stockings.
Step4
Wipe down your pet. Yes, fabric softeners are a safe and easy way to keep your favorite pooch smelling nice. Unless your pet has an allergy to the ingredients, it's a harmless way to freshen up your pet in between regular shampooing and trips to the groomer.
