It’s a bummer to get a fish on the line and then have your knot fail you. It is easy to tie a hook and lure once you learn the basics.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Take the end of your fishing line and run it through the eye that is on the fish hook.

  2. Step 2

Take the end of the fishing line and wrap it four to eight times around the line itself.

  3. Step 3

Next, take the end of the line and put it through the loop that now exists. This loop will be between the twist you created in the above step and the eye of the hook.

  4. Step 4

Now, pass the end of the line through the loop that was created in the step above.

  5. Step 5

Finally, moisten the line a bit and pull the line tight. Clip off the excess line above the knot. A small pair of scissors or fingernail clippers works great.

on 6/20/2008 This is great. My BF is kind enough not to make fun of me when he rescues me from the mess of line I have created. Maybe this will help me do it on my own. Thanks!
