This is another method that is used to land a carp. After all, getting a carp to hit your line and landing the carp is two different things.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

When you feel the strike on your line, let out a bit of line. This will keep the fish from pulling back hard and spitting out the hook.

  2. Step 2

Let the fish think he is winning for the first few moments. This will help to wear him out.

  3. Step 3

Begin to slowly reel in your fishing line. The fish will struggle, but eventually tire. As he tires, move your rod back and forth. This will keep the carp from using its fins to its advantage.

  4. Step 4

Once you get the carp out of the water, put him in a net. If there is no net, put on hand under him in front of his tail. Put your other hand between his head and stomach. Hold the carp firmly and never grab him by his mouth. If you do, it could tear out his jaw.

  5. Step 5

Remember, carp can be very large. Be sure you are capable of handling the fish before you set the hook in him.
