If you are new to fishing, you should know that it doesn’t have to cost much of anything. Fishing for little cost is a great way to see if fishing is something you want to invest in as a hobby.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Go to your local sporting goods store and purchase a cheap fishing line, hooks, a couple of bobbers and some weights.
Step2
Go on the hunt for a stick that is long enough and sturdy enough to serve as a fishing rod.
Step3
Tie the line securely to the stick.
Step4
Tie a hook to the stick.
Step5
Put the bobber and weights on the fishing line.
Step6
Next, purchase a small container of worms or crickets. Or you can just use corn, meat or cheese from your refrigerator.
Step7
Get a chair and head out to a local fishing hole.
Step8
Set up your chair, put the bait on your hook and wait.
Step9
When you see the bobber go under and you pull in your first fish, you will know if you are “hooked” on fishing or not.
Step10
If you think fishing would be something you would like to pursue, check around to see if you know anyone who fishes. Ask yourself along on his next fishing trip. If you still think fishing is for you, ask your buddy what equipment he recommends.
Step11
Remember, you don’t have to spend a fortune on your first set of fishing gear. You want something that is economically and easy to use.
