Transferring those out of print LP's to CD is pretty easy but what if you want to separate the songs into individual tracks? This can be done with NERO 7 or 8. Read on to learn how.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Nero 7 or 8
  • Tapes or LP's
  • CD Burner

Step1
Transfer your LP or TAPE to CD using my article "How to Transfer LP Vinyl Records to CD".
Step2
Now you have a masssive *.mp3 or *.wav file.
Open the file using Nero's Wave Editor
Step3
Use the ZOOM tool to ZOOM-OUT so you can see the nulls in the music wave-form. Now click and drag your mouse over one song. TIP: Each song can be seen and so can the silence between tracks.
Step4
With the track high-lighted, Press Ctrl+C to copy it
Step5
Click File > NEW
Press Ctrl+V (to paste it)
You now have a single track in a window
Step6
Press File > Save and give it a name like "The Monkey Dance" or whatever you song name is.

Close the single track window
Now you still have the massive orginal track still open.
High-light the 2nd track only and do a Ctrl+C
Click File > New
Ctrl+V
Save
Name it
Repeat until all tracks have been created.
Step7
Close all Windows and open Nero Start Smart
Click Music > AUDIO CD
Step8
Add all of your newly created tracks
Click Next
TIP: Check NORMALIZE if you want all the tracks to have a similar volume. Music volume can vary widely from a album to album.
Step9
Enter a title for your new CD and click Burn
