It's almost time for the big game and you have 20 people showing up to your house to watch. Give them a day to remember, no matter which team wins, by having the best Superbowl Party ever!
Inviting Your Guests. The invitation is the first experience of your party the guest will have. Make them fun and unique. Football shaped invitations set the mood. Another idea is to give out tickets to your party. Most print shops will be able to design something that looks like an authentic football ticket but that has your party info on it.
Step2
Decorations. Decorating isn't necessary, but it adds to the festiveness of your event. A few streamers and some balloon bouquets will add that extra spirit.
Step3
Feeding the Crowd. Superbowl is usually an all day event, but you don't want to spend your day in the kitchen. Serve food that can be made ahead of time. Crock pots work great for things like chili or dips. Finger foods are good but remember to choose ones that are not too messy. Finally have bowls of peanuts and chips on end tables for guests to snack on.
Step4
Drink and Be Merry. Decide how you want to serve beverages. BYOB is acceptable as long as you tell people before hand. If you are supplying the beverages, try setting up a self-serve bar...it's less work for you and guests can make their drinks their way. Also, place coolers, filled with pop or beer in key areas for easy access.
Step5
Encourage Team Spirit. Have your guests dress for the favorite football team (even if that team isn't playing). This sets the mood and is also a great conversation starter. Take your party to the next level by offering a prize for Best Dressed.
Step6
Keep 'Em Busy. Though most people will watch the game, you may have guests who want to socialize but are not in to football. Offer alternative activities, like a card tournament. Or buy a variety of inexpensive hand-held video games (20 questions is a good one) and place them on tables throughout the party.
Step7
Getting a Good Seat. For a Superbowl Party, being able to see the TV is pretty important. Set up TVs in each room of the party area. Also, make sure to have enough seating. If you don't have enough room on the sofa, try adding folding chairs or beanbag chairs for extra seats.
Tips & Warnings
Do as much as you can before your guests arrive
Stress the importance of designated drivers and have the number to the local cab company available just in case.
Be ready for the unexpected...and don't sweat the small stuff
Once the guests have arrived, relax...have fun, after all it is a party.
