As has been said the Anchor Bar in buffalo Ny invented buffalo wings, hence the name, but recreating them is not all that hard.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 5 lbs chicken wing drummettes
  • 1 lb of butter
  • 1 lb of honey
  • 1 gallon Frank's Hot sauce
  • 1 to 2 oz bottle of tobasco sauce
  • deep fryer
  • large mixing bowl
  1. Step 1

In a large sauce pan melt the butter and honey together, ad the frank' s hot sauce (entire bottle) and the tobasco. keep this at room temperature until needed.

  2. Step 2

heat oil in deep fryer to 350 degrees farenheit. place wings in basket, (note thawing wings first is a good idea). slowly lower the basket into the oil (putting frozen wings in hot oil quickly will cause it to boil over) cook until wings are crisp and golden brown.

  3. Step 3

Drain wings and put in mixing bowl. Pour enough sauce over the wings to completely coat the wings. ( you should have sauce left) Once the wings are coated place on a platter with celery sticks and blue cheese dressing. Makes approximately 50 wings. keep excess sauce at room temperature for your next batch of wings.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember, it is best to thaw the wings or if possible buy unfrozen chicken wings.
  • As with any deep frying spatter is a concern, but DO NOT just drop frozen wings into the hot oil.
