How to Find a Pet Rock

Pet rocks can be found almost anywhere, including fields, near streams and rivers, the mountains, pastures, in parks, hiking trails and even along the side of the road. You'll find them if you stay alert.

1. Think about size. Decide if you want your pet rock to fit into your pocket or to sit on your desk. Determine if you want your pet rock to be skinny or chubby, short or tall. You should probably steer away from getting a baby pebble. These pet rocks need to stay with their mom a bit longer. If you do take him home, he will probably be so small that he will get lost.
2. Think about whether you will dress your pet rock and which size rock would be the easiest to manage and clothe.
3. Practice courtesy. While searching for your pet, don’t hurt the feelings of the rocks you don’t choose. Making negative comments about a rock’s appearance can give him a complex. You don’t want him to be the laughing stock of his community.
4. Be kind to insects. If a rock is providing shelter for a creepy crawly, don’t take away its home.
