Step 1
So you found a man. He's talking to you, maybe online, maybe in person. You think, Wow! I really like this guy. Slow down, sister! Take a deep breath. You don't want to scare him off!
-
Step 2
Okay, chica. Time for a little reality. No matter how much anyone talks about equality of the sexes, it just ain't so. This is no time to hang on to your Women's Lib principles. You want a good man to be crazy about you? Then read on...
-
Step 3
Yes, you can have a "Sex in the City" life if you want to, but is that really what you want? Do you want your man to be the flavor of the week or the cream in your coffee for life? Okay, then. Here's the first tip: Do not make the first move. That's right, I said it. Take away my ERA membership card, but I got roses last week, and beautiful impassioned poetry every day.
-
Step 4
Whether you connect through a flirt on a dating site, meet in a chat room, catch his eye across the room at a party, or spot him at a church picnic, LET HIM MAKE THE FIRST MOVE. I know what you are thinking. "If I wait for him to make the first move, I'll never have anyone." Not true, sister. Men love to be the one doing the chasing. Give him a look that lets him know you are interested. Smile. Maybe even laugh at something with him. But WAIT for him to approach you.
-
Step 5
Do not surround yourself with a bevy of girlfriends. Especially not if they are prone to giggling at the unfortunate men brave enough to approach your group. Nothing is more intimidating to guys. Separate from the crowd and give your man a fair chance to meet you without passing through the gauntlet.
-
Step 6
Be a lady. It is not necessary to use innuendo or participate in bedroom talk to attract a good man. In fact, a truly good man will be turned off immediately. He will remain polite, but you will never see him again. No matter how innocent your conversation, he will fill in the blanks on his own, and will ascribe passionate motives to your completely vanilla text or conversation, and will tell you about it in the finest purple prose. (You should see the poems! Ah!)

on 2/21/2008 I thought this was very interesting and level-headed. It's true, men do seem to appreciate deference and not being rushed. They tend to like traditionally feminine qualities in a woman. You can't really generalize about a whole group of disparate individuals, but you have to start SOMEWHERE,and this is a pretty good place. Thanks.
