How to Make a Beach Themed Wedding Favor
For a beach wedding, get creative with the invitations, flowers and favors. A beach-themed wedding favor could incorporate sand, pails, shells, flowers, water or seaside scents. A favor of mini bucket candles could also serve as centerpieces or table decorations.
Things You'll Need
- Small metal pails
- Votive candles
- Sand
- Small seashells
- Scissors
- Ribbon (1/4 to 1/2 inch wide, white or wedding color)
- Spray paint (optional)
Instructions
-
-
1
Purchase small metal pails that are large enough to hold a votive candle but with at least 1 inch between the candle and the sides of the pail.
-
2
Spray paint the pails to match your wedding colors. If you find pails that match your wedding colors, consider yourself lucky and skip this step. You could also stencil beach shapes (such as shells, palm trees or beach balls) on the side of each pail.

3
Fill the bottom of each pail with 1 inch of sand. Buy sand at a craft store or less expensive "play sand" at a home improvement store, or collect sand from the very beach where you are going to be married.
-
4
Put a votive candle in each pail, and press it into the sand.
-
5
Arrange seashells around each votive, filling the space between the candle and the pail. Buy seashells at a craft store, or collect them from the beach.
-
6
Cut an 8- to 12-inch piece of ribbon for each favor.
-
7
Tie a bow around the handle of each pail either in the center of the handle or where the handle attaches to the pail.

Tips & Warnings
Personalize this beach wedding favor with personalized printed ribbon, painting a message on the pails, or adding a printed or handwritten tag to the ribbon.
