A Lawyer for a child represents a child and will promote and act upon the child's wishes and desires. The Lawyer will do and fight for what is in the best interest of a child.
Step3
In order to get a Lawyer appointed for your child, you will need to file a Motion with the court, request a Court hearing on the matter go before the Court and get an order appointing one. An apppointed lawyer is not always guaranteed.. If it is a messy custody battle or if children services are involved then you probably have a better chance of getting a Lawyer. Please note that the Lawyer represents the child and not the mother or father.
