How to get Your Favorite Images on Products

Now that digital images are everywhere--recording all of the special moments of life--some come along that are so incredible that a simple print won’t do the shot justice. Share the pictures with family and friends on coffee cups, T-shirts, mousepads and more.

1. Get your images digital. When you take pictures with a digital camera, you’ll be able to download the images from the camera. If you still use a film camera, you can have negatives or a print scanned into a digital form.

2. Do a little research. Most websites that host photos will print them onto various products. Take the time for comparison shopping or ask friends. Some sites use more of the true image while others can crop a photo oddly.

3. Find out the resolution you need for the product. For most reproductions, 300 dpi (dots per inch) is preferable. File your order and send the image file. You’ll have to pay up front and over the Internet you’ll need to use a credit card.
