Step 1
Eat a healthy diet that includes good fats such as coconut oil, olive oil and yes, even butter. Your body often craves sugar because you are lacking certain nutrients and fat-soluble vitamins. (Photo: olive oil)

Step 2
Replace processed foods and refined starches with whole foods and sprouted (or fermented) breads. However, if you have a yeast problem you will need to cut out wheat products until you restore balance in your body. (Photo: whole grain bread)

Step 3
Make sure you are getting enough protein. Adequate protein intake will often stop sugar cravings. Try chicken with steamed veggies and teriyaki sauce as a protein-rich meal. (Photo: Chicken & Veggies)

Step 4
Eat an apple or other piece of fruit when your sugar cravings are at their worst. (Photo: Fresh Apples)

Step 5
Drink water, and bring water with you to sip, as proper hydration will help stop some sugar cravings. Sometimes, your body's need for water is interpreted as a desire for sugar.
