The fastest and most professional way to get your band before the eyes and ears of booking agents or music industry professionals is by having a snappy press-kit to present to them. Most bands miserably fail when it comes to creating press-kits. Easily get the press-kit that you need simply by following these 4 steps.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Band
  • Recorded digital music of your band
  • Press photos
  • Knack for writing
  • Band member bios
  1. Step 1

Write the elevator pitch and bio. This is your big selling point. What has the band done? Have you opened for any big acts? What is the band’s story in a nutshell?

  2. Step 2

Gather the recorded music you wish to use. You will need digital music to add to your online press-kit. MP3’s are the most commonly used digital format, and typically you will want to have at least 2 to 3 included MP3’s available for listening in your online press-kit.

  3. Step 3

Make sure you have high-resolution press photos. High quality photos are a must. You are trying to sell them on not only your music but the band’s overall image as well.

  4. Step 4

Proofread and correct any errors prior to submitting. You can never proofread your work enough. Double-check everything and make sure that it reads professionally and without error.
