In today’s society many families tend to grow apart, especially once the kids move out, but there are ways to keep them coming back to visit and one of those ways is to find a family game that you can keep going forever. Most board games are age appropriated. Children’s games become boring as the kids get older. Finding a family game that will last forever and nurture the family bond is really simple if you follow these easy steps. If you can, start the game while the kids are young, but this works even if they're older.

From Quick Guide: Fun at Home with Kids
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Find a very small action figure, preferably around 3 or 4 inches in height. Let the kids help in picking it out.

  2. Step 2

Purchase some small magnets and cut them to match the size of the figure’s feet. It doesn’t have to be a perfect fit, but make it as close as you can.

  3. Step 3

Glue the magnets to the bottom of the figure’s feet. Allow the glue to dry thoroughly.

  4. Step 4

Pick one or two rooms in the house and set the rules as follows: The figure will be hidden in the chosen room or rooms only. The figure must be placed on metal, using the magnets on the bottom of the feet to place it. Wherever the figure is hidden, it must be visible from at least one angle.

  5. Step 5

In order to avoid an argument, Mom or Dad should take the first turn in hiding the figure.

  6. Step 6

Whoever finds the figure is the one to hide it next. The kids will have fun for years to come. Once they grow up and move out, watch them when they come home to visit and look for the figure, asking who found it last. It is a game they will never stop playing.

Tips & Warnings
  • The smaller the figure the better, the best size being between 2 and 4 inches. Sometimes you can find a board game that the whole family loves and they will play it off and on for years. Chess can also be an ongoing game, but only for two players.
