Things You'll Need:
- A shoe box with a lid
-
Step 1
Find a convenient place to keep your lost sock container in your laundry room or by where you normally fold your clean laundry.
-
Step 2
If you come up with odd ones that do not have a match, put it in the lost sock container.
-
Step 3
Once a month or a couple times a month, go through the box and try to match the socks that are in the box together. You may be surprised to find how many matches you can make out of that box!
-
Step 4
You can use the socks that never seem to have a match around your house. They make great dust rags that you can slip over your hand and run over dusty furniture and surfaces. You can also use them to make fun sock puppets for the kids to play with.
You can fill them with dried beans, rice, or corn kernels and then sew the top shut and use it as a hot or cold pack. Keep it in the freezer and it will be cold when needed, and then pop it in the microwave for 45 seconds to warm it up to treat a sore muscle.

on 7/12/2009 Good idea about the hot or cold pack. Just make sure not to put popcorn in the sock. You could buy those socks from Socklab on Ebay that snap together for washing and drying so you won't lose them. They're the coolest socks ever and feel so good.
