If you are planning on entertaining during the Super Bowl, here are some tips to help you put it all together.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Invitation
  • Lots of food
  • Lots of drinks
  • Fruits
  • Big screen TV
  • Music/Entertainment before and after the game
  1. Step 1

Send invitations to your friends and relatives. Invitations need not be too formal, you can create one using construction paper or card stock and then print your invitation using graphics that is Super Bowl inspired. Use the color of the team you are rooting for. Send the invitations at least 2 to 3 weeks prior to the event so that people can block it on their calendar. A phone call to follow up will be very helpful as well, especially if you are down to the wire or if you decided to host a Super Bowl party at the last minute.

  2. Step 2

Add some decoration in a Football theme. Put streamers and placards and some colorful balloons for kids. Keep the decoration informal and sporty!

  3. Step 3

Plan your menu of food to serve. Since a Super Bowl Party is supposed to be laid back and casual, you can decide to have a barbecue. Since Super Bowl happens during the winter time, you can still have sumptuous meat served by roasting using your oven or you can use the indoor type grills you can put on your cook top.

Here is an example of menu:

    garden or Caesar salad
    clam chowder or corn soup
barbecued or grilled beef, pork, fish and chicken
    hot chicken wings
Noodles such as Chinese Noodles (chow mein) or Spaghetti
    Grilled vegetables
    Hot Dogs and hamburgers
    Ice cream
    Assorted fruits or fruit salad
    Chips and fries
Finger foods like cheese cubes in a toothpick, open face sandwiches, lumpia and celery sticks.
    Assorted dips and condiments
    Order several boxes of pizzas
    Candies
Super Bowl Cake (this is a cake you can bake decorated anything football or super bowl)

Since this is a buffet type, you can have plenty of food since guests will be constantly eating.

  4. Step 4

Prepare lots of drinks for all ages. Since this will be a family affair, serve sodas, fruit punch, beers and other alcoholic beverage like margaritas or tequilas.

  5. Step 5

Prepare lots of seats for your guests. Depending on how many people you plan to invite, make sure that you have enough chairs for everyone. You can have folding chairs rented. Have some floor pillows and bean bags to sit on.

  6. Step 6

Viewing should be enjoyable. Ensure your television is big enough to see the game by everyone in the room.

  7. Step 7

Prepare some games to be played by kids or anyone while waiting for the Super Bowl game to begin. Then after the game have some entertainment, such as music. Some Super Bowl parties can last all afternoon and through the night. Make sure you have enough food and drink to last through the party. Remind folks about driving safely and limit serving alcohol to designated drivers.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can go to the mass merchandise or groceries a couple of days prior to the party if you are preparing all the food on your own.
  • Start preparing the food the day before.
  • A potluck would be great so everyone can pitch in!
  • If you are inviting a large crowd, you may want to get an extra helping hand or hire a caterer.
  • Make sure to buy plenty of paper plates, plastic cups, plastic forks, knives and spoons. Have plenty of napkins too.
  • Do not serve alcoholic drinks to minors.
