The GameCube system like the PlayStation and Dreamcast systems before it, gets its game data from unwriteable disc media, so you'll need a memory card to save your place in the game, store your preferences, and preserve the stats of your sports games.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Nintendo Gamecube Console
  • Memory Card
  1. Step 1

Purchase a Gamecube memory Card. Take it out of the case.

  2. Step 2

With the power off, slide the card into the memory card slot on the front of the console. There will be two slots so that two players can save the game at the same time. [You can also copy files from one to the other but that is a different set of instructions.]

  3. Step 3

With the game in its place turn on the power. After you have played the game the Gamecube's memory system will recognize that you have a memory card inserted and will ask you if you want to SAVE the game. Make sure you select "YES" and do not turn off the power until the screen says that it is okay to do so. If you turn off the power too early it will not have saved the game completely.

  4. Step 4

Store the card some place safe.

  5. Step 5

The next time you want to play the same game insert your card in the memory card slot and when you turn on the game you will be able to continue where you left off.

Tips & Warnings
  • You may want to obtain a card storage case.
