Started a new job and things are slow OR you find yourself surfing the net because someone else got a project you were supposed to get and now your yawn-city. Here's how to appear busy even if you aren't.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

If it's a new job look through the entire company website and meet some people who could help you later on.

  2. Step 2

If it's an old job there are always old files to clean out. Both those on your computer and your file cabinet.

  3. Step 3

Clean your office. You'll impress the boss if you finally have a clean desk. Imagine being able to find everything for once.

  4. Step 4

Make prolific use of the bathroom.

  5. Step 5

Coffee breaks are important and necessary to keep you awake. Lucky you if you have a Starbucks or other coffee shop in your building or near it.

  6. Step 6

Enjoy this unbusy time because you know sooner or later you will get slammed with work.

Tips & Warnings
  • Surfing the net could be bad if your company tracks where you go on your computer, so use it minimally and tastefully.
