How to Post on the GolfLink Forums

The GolfLink website has put together an online community where golfers from all over the world can get together to talk golf and anything else. Popular forum categories include golf equipment, tips, courses and more. You can even try to buy or sell golf equipment to other people who post to or read the GolfLink forums. Read on to learn how to post on the GolfLink forums.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • GolfLink account
Step1
Go to the GolfLink website (see Resources below).
Step2
Find the word "Community" on one of the page tabs and click it.
Step3
Choose a subject to read about on the GolfLink forum. You can choose topics ranging from equipment to swing flaws to tips. Click the blue title for the topic.
Step4
Select a statement on the forums you want to respond to and click the "Reply" link.
Step5
Provide your email address and password for your GolfLink account. If you don't have an account yet, you can click the "Try It Free" button to sign up with GolfLink.
Step6
Choose the options for the text you will enter in the forum, making selections from the drop-down boxes. You can also change the font characteristics and page justification.
Step7
Type your message in the big white box. If you changed the font settings, you may need to click the box to type in it.
Step8
Add an emoticon (type of smiley face) to your text by moving the cursor to the proper position and clicking the face of your choice.
Step9
Look over your message before you officially post it by clicking the "Preview" button. However, you aren't required to preview your message.
Step10
Post your message on the GolfLink forum by clicking the "Reply to Post" button at the bottom of the page.
Step11
Check your post after you submit it to make sure the message made it to the forum.

Tips & Warnings

  • Fill out your profile, so people can know a little more about the person they are talking with on the forums.
  • Use the relationships formed on GolfLink to help you find playing partners when you are on vacation. You may be able to play some private country clubs with members you found at the GolfLink forums.
  • Click the "Quote" link at the bottom of a specific message to quote the poster. Forum readers will then know what message you are addressing.
  • Develop a thick skin when posting on the forums. As with most forums, some people may verbally attack others for no apparent reason.
