Tips & Warnings
  • This recipe yields two servings of pineapple margaritas. Make more if needed by doubling or tripling the ingredients and using a blender to stir the mixture.
  • When purchasing limes, select fruits that are a healthy green color and free of large blemishes. A lime should be firm, but yield to small amounts of pressure.
  • Use a juicer to extract the lime juice or simply squeeze a lime half with your hand and use your free hand to catch any seeds before they fall into your drink mixture.
  • The recipe works well with either fresh or canned pineapple juice. If you choose to make them with the fresh variety, look for a fruit that has a bright combination of yellow and gold, at least at the base of the fruit. A juicer will help you extract the juice needed.
  • Try a frozen pineapple margarita by adding the tequila, triple sec, lime juice, pineapple juice and sugar to a blender filled about three-quarters full of ice.
  • Position your fingers over the strainer when pouring to keep the strainer in the shaker cup. This will help avoid spills that are common when pouring shaken cocktails.
