Things You'll Need:
- Tire lever
- Car jack
- Socket set
-
Step 1
Read any instructive materials that were included with your set of spinning rims. Some manufacturers provide step-by-step instructions, which detail the correct way to install your new spinning rims. Keep in mind that the exact process may vary, depending on the size, style and weight of the spinning rims you've purchased.
-
Step 2
Hoist your car on a lift in an auto garage, or do each wheel one by one. If you don't have access to a car hoist, simply jack each wheel off the ground using a standard car jack.
-
Step 3
Let all the air out of the tire of the wheel holding the rim you're going to replace with spinning rims. This gives you much-needed lag space between the tire and the rim and will prevent you from having to remove the tire entirely.
-
Step 4
Pop off your existing rim, loosening any fasteners with your socket set. Pry the rim off with your tire lever.
-
Step 5
Affix your spinning rim to the hub of your wheel as directed in the instructive guide for your product. In general, you'll simply need to attach the inner ring of the rim to the matching hub on your wheel. Due to the typical design of spinning rims, it's likely that there won't be any external points to fasten onto the car wheel with screws, nuts or bolts.
-
Step 6
Follow the same process for your car's other wheels.
