Things You'll Need:
- Flower
- Wire cutters
- 26-guage floral wire
- Green floral tape
- Greenery
- Corsage pin
-
Step 1
Choose a flower for your wedding boutonniere. Cut the stem down to about 2 inches from the base of the flower.
-
Step 2
Pierce the base of the flower with floral wire, Pull it through, doubling the thickness of the wire. Cut the ends of the wire one inch longer than the bottom of the flower stem.
-
Step 3
Wrap the stem with floral tape starting where you inserted the wire. Stretch the tape slightly as you twist the wired stem to wrap it.
-
Step 4
Attach greenery and baby's breath to the wedding boutonniere using floral tape. Use the same technique you used to wrap the original stem.
-
Step 5
Twist the floral tape all the way down the stems to ensure coverage of all greenery stems and wire. You can leave the ends straight or curl it around itself a couple of times for a fancier look.
-
Step 6
Deliver your boutonniere to its new owner with a corsage pin. When it's time to attach the boutonniere to the jacket, put the pin through the floral tape near the base of the flower.
