Every bride wants to carry a beautiful floral bouquet as she walks down the aisle. The bouquet can be made from a variety of flowers and can be preserved following the wedding as a keepsake. Use the following tips to make your own wedding bouquet.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Pick out the flowers that you want to use for the bouquet. Flower choices are usually dependent on the colors that the bride has chosen for her wedding. Roses are the most common flowers incorporated into a bridal bouquet.

  2. Step 2

Gather the flowers in a bunch. As you gather the flowers, you can judge how large the bouquet is going to end up. If you are using roses, the thorns are removed and the lower leaves cut off.

  3. Step 3

Trim the ends if necessary. For shorter bouquets, the stems are cut down considerably using florist scissors.

  4. Step 4

Add in greenery. After all of the flowers are chosen, the greens, such as ivy, are incorporated into the bouquet. Filler items, like pearl sprays are also added at this time.

  5. Step 5

Secure the bouquet with wire. After wire has been wrapped around the flowers, cover it with florist tape. Then wrap a ribbon in the color that the bride has chosen over the tape. Use a pin to keep the ribbon in place.

  6. Step 6

Tie a small bow or knot. Once the bouquet is in place, you can either finish with a casual knot or a more elaborate bow.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure that the pin does not stick out of the flowers. It is important to position it facing down.
  • If you've never made a wedding bouquet before, a bouquet holder can help you with the project.
