Acting is an extremely hard industry to break into and stay in, especially if you are not prepared or projecting the right feel when you approach casting directors and auditions. How you walk into a room for an acting audition can set the stage for how the entire audition will go.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Prepare for the audition. If you know the role you are auditioning for and the premise of the show, play or commercial being cast, you will be more confident as you walk in the door.
Step2
Project confidence on the way to your audition. This is the most important thing you can do when approaching a casting director, but be careful that this confidence isn't mistaken for cockiness, conceit or arrogance.
Step3
Practice good posture, such as walking with your head held high, standing straight and sitting properly in an approachable manner. You should avoid sitting with your arms crossed or wrapped around your body in any way, as this projects feelings of uneasiness or a timid nature.
Step4
Make eye contact when talking with the casting director and others involved in the audition, unless you are reading from the script and the actions do not match the words.
Step5
Be polite and thank the casting director and others for their time. Showing you respect that they are busy and you are one in hundreds relays to them your appreciation for the difficulty of the industry and your role in it. This attitude shows you are easy to work with and will likely help you get more roles.
