Things You'll Need:
- Whole wheat or white bread
- Cheese of your choice, pre-sliced
- Butter or margarine, softened
-
Step 1
Toast the bread and butter each piece of toast lightly.
-
Step 2
Place two pre-sliced cheese slices on a piece the buttered side of a piece of toast and top it with a second slice of buttered toast, with the buttered sides inside. If a young child is creating the sandwich, make sure the cheese is sliced and the bread is toasted in advance.
-
Step 3
Place the sandwich on a paper plate, paper towel, or a microwave safe plate and microwave for approximately 30 seconds, until the cheese is melted.
-
Step 4
Allow the sandwich to cool for 30 seconds, and the grilled cheese sandwich is ready to eat. Serve with a vegetable such as carrot and celery sticks and a healthy beverage for a complete, nutritious meal.
