Jug slings are used to tie a rope to a bottle that has a long narrow neck with a lip. They are secure knots that do not require the end of a rope and can easily be untied. The double jug sling is simply a jug sling tied toward the end of a rope. The following steps will show how to tie a double jug sling.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Form bight A on one end of the rope and fold it back over both the working and standing end, creating two loops, one on the standing end and one on the working end.

  2. Step 2

Lay the loop on the standing end on top of the loop on the working end so that they overlap slightly and form a center. Fold bight A back under these overlapping loops and through the center area just created from below.

  3. Step 3

Pull the two loops created in Step 1 down and away from bight A so that bight A forms the handle of the jug sling. Slip the center of the jug sling over the neck of the bottle.

  4. Step 4

Dress the jug sling by pulling firmly on its handle with one hand, and the standing and working ends with the other. Ensure that the lip of the bottle will not slip through the jug sling.

  5. Step 5

Repeat Steps 1 through 4 to tie a jug sling to a bottle with the other end of rope and complete the double jug sling.
