Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Step1
Throw a Breakaway. This is when you bring up your right hand up to the side by your ear and throw it to the side across your body at a 45-degree angle.
Step2
Hold your forefinger of your left hand out.
Step3
Let the yo-yo string wrap up and around the forefinger as it gets close to the end of the string.
Step4
Position the yo-yo so that it falls on the string onto the axel as it falls over your forefinger. It should be spinning as it hits the string.
Step5
Move the forefinger up so that it is even with the right hand and the yo-yo is spinning in the middle of the strings.
Step6
Bring up the yo-yo by pulling both hands apart, popping the yo-yo up. Pull your forefinger off the string as it goes back into your open palm, which you should have held upward at the bottom.

Tips & Warnings

  • The higher you bring your arm up to your right before you throw, the slower the yo-yo will go, which will give you more time to catch the yo-yo.
  • Bring your forefinger as close to the end of the yo-yo string as possible, which makes it easier to catch the yo-yo on the string.
