Step 1
Start the yo-yo on an arcing downward path with a sharp, consistent motion, setting up a pendulum-like arc that will take it toward your left hand.
-
Step 2
Don't allow the yo-yo to "sleep" at the bottom of its arc as you do for other tricks. Let the yo-yo complete the arc up toward your left hand.
-
Step 3
Hold the index finger of your left hand out straight so that the yo-yo can, on its upward arc, wind around it toward your right hand. Have the index finger of your right hand out straight, as well, ready to loop the yo-yo around it on its downward arc. Imagine a complete circular motion to complete this step, as opposed to imagining separate arcs.
-
Step 4
Allow the yo-yo to continue its arc back up toward the index finger of your left hand, and again let it loop around that finger. Keep it as close as you can to your index finger so that you can get the yo-yo to settle onto the single string that you're now supporting with your 2 index fingers.
-
Step 5
Undo the trick by reversing the order of the steps.
