No matter what your experience level is, you can perform a hip-hop neck roll that will have a huge impact on your performance. All you need to do is stretch out your neck and practice these steps to perform a hip-hop neck roll.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Stand up straight with your shoulders directly over your hips. As you do a neck roll, you only want to move your head and neck. Place your hands clasped behind your back to keep your shoulders from moving.

  2. Step 2

Keep your eyes and chin up as you perform your neck roll.

  3. Step 3

Imagine a point 2 inches in front of your chin.

  4. Step 4

Move your neck over your right shoulder. Keep your eyes and chin up and looking straight ahead of you.

  5. Step 5

Use a circular motion to stretch your neck forward. Think about that imaginary point from Step 3. Try to stretch your neck forward so that your chin touches this point.

  6. Step 6

Continue with your circular motion, and move your neck over your left shoulder. Again, keep your eyes and chin up.

  7. Step 7

Reverse Steps 4 to 6 and you have all the moves you need to perform a complete neck roll from right to left.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember to keep your body still. When you do a hip-hop neck roll, you want your head and neck to be the focus of attention. Do not detract from it by shifting your weight and shoulders.
