How to Draw a Lotus Flower in Henna Tattooing
Henna tattoos are a beautiful way to adorn the body with semipermanent designs that can last for up to a few weeks, depending on the location of the henna tattoo. While traditionally used for religious and cultural celebrations, many people are using henna tattoos for everyday fashions. One of the easiest henna designs for beginners to draw is the lotus flower.

1
Choose the spot for your henna tattoo. Pick a place that you can easily reach with the hand you use to draw.
-
2
Mark the center of the flower by drawing a teardrop shape for the central petal.
-
-
3
Define the outline of the central petal by going over the line again, adding some weight to the bottom of the petal by thickening the line.
-
4
Add 2 more teardrop shapes, 1 on either side of the initial petal. These 2 shapes should be incomplete to give the illusion of being overlapped by the first petal.
-
5
Add the tips of 2 more petals in the space between the central petal and the petals on either side. Just draw a peak to represent petals that are almost entirely hidden behind the rest of the flower.
-
6
Darken the base of the petals and color in a stem. For an artistic flourish, turn the stem into a swirl or vine and leaf pattern.
-
7
Add 2 more final petals below the base of the flower. The final 2 petals should be smaller and thinner than the others, and point down at a 45-degree angle from the base of the central petal.
