Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • White flat sheet
  • Non-toxic, soft-tipped markers
  • Fabric scissors or rotary cutter
  • Needle and thread
  • Costume model
  1. Step 1

Find an old, white, flat sheet for your costume. Buy a sheet at a local thrift store if you do not have a white sheet. Use a king or queen sized sheet for adult ghost costumes.

  2. Step 2

Ask your future ghost to help make her costume. Find a friend to assist you if the costume is for you. Find the center of the sheet. Drape the middle of the sheet over your costume model's head.

  3. Step 3

See if the model can safely walk in the sheet. Draw a line on the sheet where you need to hem the material. Cut excess material with fabric scissors. Leave an inch of extra material to create a hem if you desire.

  4. Step 4

Tell your costume model to point to his eyes while he is wearing the sheet. Give him a soft-tipped, non-toxic marker and ask him to mark eyeholes on the sheet draped over his head. Assist him in marking both eyeholes on the sheet.

  5. Step 5

Remove the sheet from your model. Complete drawing the circles for the eyeholes on the costume. Avoid extending the eyeholes too far or your ghost's nose will show through the eyeholes.

  6. Step 6

Cut the marked eyeholes from the costume using fabric scissors or a rotary cutting tool. Ask your costume model to try on the costume. Ask if her vision is clear through the eyeholes.

  7. Step 7

Hem the bottom of the costume with a needle and thread if desired.
