Properly folding dress slacks when packing luggage can eliminate the worry of wrinkles and the need for ironing or steaming upon arrival at your destination. You could, alternatively, use a garment bag to hang the pants, also ensuring a wrinkle-free arrival.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Hold the pants out in front of you by the waistband. The pants should be hanging freely but creased at the zipper. They should look like 1 leg, not 2, if you hold them properly.

  2. Step 2

Find the pleats or natural creases down the center of each leg. Follow the pleats all the way down the leg on both sides of both legs. There should be a total of 4 pleats. Make sure to line them up properly 1 leg on top of the other down to the cuffs.

  3. Step 3

Take hold of the pants with 1 hand at the waistband and 1 hand at the cuff. Fold the pants in half horizontally as if placing them over a hanger. Readjust the pleats and alignment as necessary.

  4. Step 4

Roll the pants gently and loosely starting with the folded (hanger) side, not the waistband. Now you're ready to carefully place them in your suitcase. Bon voyage!
