Step 1
Choose either a clear or tinted primer. If you select a tinted one, try to match it to your skin tone. Corrective primers help camouflage skin blemishes (green primer, for instance, offsets redness).

Apply moisturizer as you would normally. Use one that has sunscreen and anti-aging components, since most primers are lighter in texture than moisturizer and don't contain these ingredients. Allow it a minute to penetrate your skin.

Pour a little primer onto the back of your hand to warm it. Gently dab a makeup sponge into it and apply the primer to your face, lightly patting it all over. Blend it gently with the sponge and allow it to sink in.

Put on your foundation and makeup as you would normally after the primer has set.
