So, you have a special event coming up, and an unexpected guest, or guests, has arrived. A dreaded pimple, or a slew of them, have taken root on your face. Whether it is due to stress or just an accident, there are ways to deal with an acne breakout before your big event.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Try doing nothing at all. The worst thing you can do for acne is picking, popping or squeezing your zits. This can cause swelling, bleeding and it can also trap bacteria under the skin and make the acne worse.
Step2
Keep your skin clean, but do not scrub or become over-zealous about the offending area. Over washing, or scrubbing, can dry out the skin and force your glands to produce more oil to balance the skin to its natural state. This can make acne worse.
Step3
Create a diversion on your face. If the offending zit has set up shop on your chin, make your eye make-up more dramatic to steer the eyes upward. If the zit is living on your forehead, go for simple eye make-up and dramatic lips instead.
Step4
Cover up acne breakouts. Use a good liquid foundation to cover up the blemishes. With a tapping motion, cover each blemish. Avoid a rubbing motion, as this will only remove the foundation you have applied. Afterward, use a loose powder and a soft brush, to gently tap the powder on your face. This will give your skin a smoother finish.
Step5
Go to a dermatologist. If the acne is severe, a dermatologist can help with injections of cortisone. The doctor can also help you with a skin regime for future breakouts.
Step6
Drink lots of water. Hydrated skin is less susceptible to breakouts, and even when you have to deal with acne before a special event, hydrated skin looks healthier and younger.
